More obvious incoming message/new contact sign on

Hello everyone

When I receive a message or a contact signs on, there is
an audible warning and the flashing orange notification
at the bottom of the screen starts. There are times when
I am several feet away from the PC - is it possible to
arrange for a more obvious visual warning - such as a
specific screensaver starts or a full page message such
as "NEW CONTACT OR MESSAGE"?

I guess that this is an unusual request and it may not be
possible. I've seen the comment in other NG that "the
only stupid question is the one that isn't asked" so here
it is - with apologies in advance, if necessary!
