I finally upgraded my system case. I decided to get the Antec SX635 MiniTower.
Instalation of my components was simple but a little tricky. A stablizing bar makes it a little challenging installing the motherboard.
The case came with one rear exhaust fan and I added two more intake fans. One blows accross the PCI cards the other blows across the hard drive. The 350W power supply has two fans. Now my system has 'seven' cooling fans.
One for the cpu.
One for the gpu.
One main rear exhaust.
Two intake.
Two for the psu.
My old system would accumulate dust rapidly. So on the new case I used a bit of velcro to hold a thin piece of filter media in front of the intake fans. The filter media is hidden under the lower front bezel half.
I was wondering if anyone else has tried this before to reduce the accumulation of dust inside their computer case.
I have been checking out computer cases for desktop systems for a while but I have not come across a case that has a removeable/washable filter cartridge.
Seems like a good idea. I don't know why the aftermarket case manufactures have not developed this type of feature/option.

dust??? nah
dont really worry about it...
sure the cpu cooler gets covered in a fine layer of grey stuff... but thats nothing a gentle brush wont handle.
The lack of thermal protection on Athlon's is cunning way to stop morons from using AMD.
Replaced aircraft cable with 38" DD cup bra to hold down computer case. Cups filled with silicone implants for viewing pleasure and added thermal capacity.
On a serious note. Has anyone tried fitting their computer case with an air filter on the intake fans/vents?
but FIRST, i need to find a DECENT midtower case with a front 120mm fan mount AND a grill in the front that allows decent air drawthru...
u would be amazed at all the shitty case designs ive seen
*big sigh*
still lookin... and i dont have the skills/tools/time to make my own mod

Do you know of af any manufacture web links?
It would be nice to see a pull out washable cartridge integrated with the case frame.
To clean the make shift filter I have on my intake fans the side door, top and bottom front bezels have to be removed.
Antec?
I got this case, but it´s black and super miditower from Chieftech.
Ive seen your model and it´s also from Chieftech.
Who produces these case models anyway?
Antec, Chieftech, other?
Possible the company who manufactures the case makes them for other companies also.
My case came in a nice retail cardboard box with pictures, logos and specs printed all over it. But that really doesn't mean anything as it could have been packaged by the distribution company contracted by Antec.
