Hey all! I could really use some help. I plan on building my first computer. So far this is all I know that I want.

Ati Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB
1 Gig 3200 DDR ram
2.8 or 3.0 Gig AMD Processor

The big questions are what type of motherboard, power source, and type of AMD processor?

Then the minor questions:
Do I need extra cooling fans? Whats a good cpu fan? What case will hold all of this with no problems? Do motherboards have a standard shape to fit all cases? I'm pretty confident in hooking everything together correctly. Is there more to building a computer than hooking all the pieces together?

Thanks everyone soooo much. After looking at motherboards for an hour I thought I'd just ask the people that know this stuff.

Welcome to the forums!

If you post this over in the cpu section, you'll get a bunch of good answers. This particular section doesn't get much traffic.

When posting over there, give them a budget and say what you're using the pc for (gaming, video encoding or just email and web surfing)
