Hello,
I have used XP professional corporate edition for some time.
Now, on a new computer I am building; I installed (Booted virgin system from XP pro cd)XP professional single-use non-corporate. This "microsoft" cd is bootable and also includes service pack 1. I thought this would be a big improvement.
The difference and my main problem is the activation process. I have used the "changer" in the past, however this non-corporate version does not accept these codes??? Please confirm that this is due to it being Non-corporate. I realize that I could try and use the 1 original code that came with this cd. It came with my micron workstation cpu at work. I can not jeapordize this system and do not have that code readily available since it arrived to me already installed.
Can anyone advise the best /cheapest way to activate this XP pro (Non-corporate)?? Right now, I appently have 29 days left before XP ceases to work, unless a satisfactory activation process is found?? Thanks a million..

P.S. I am willing to expend a small amt $. I have heard of $20.00 educational Deals.? I have 2 students that work for me in my GIS lab.

well if you feel you are not doing it in an illegal manner.

then ringing up the phone number for microsoft will be fine. i don't remember ever giving them my cd code from the sticker so it should be fine.

and yes educational providers i hear can get a disk for about $7 USD or somthing rediculous.

so if you are acting illegally (which i wasn't sure from your post)

then you can get a student to buy one for you.

Ring up micro-squish??????
I find that hard to believe that you were not asked for a code???
What would their purpose be to having you call to activate??
I hate to waste the time and embarassment of calling if you are not sure...
Thanks

When you call microsoft it is an automated process, so you don't have to actually talk to anyone.

For the changer, you usually have a keygen that creates your corporate key. You just have to choose pro or home instead of corporate. I haven't had much luck with the non-corporate keys, but maybe I need to generate them from pro or home machines instead of a corporate machine.

And Yes, this is all assuming it's legal, and you just don't want microsoft in your bussiness.

I am generating from the NON-Corporate XP professional Machine (I appear to only have 29 days left). My keychanger is titled XP_Corp_keychanger.
Can someone advise me if I need a XP professional keychanger (NON-Corporate).

Thank You

My keygen allows me to generate XP Pro, XP Home, XP Corp, Office XP Pro and Plus, and Visio XP Pro

It's called XP Key Recoverer and Discoverer Version 5.12

Any Location for xprecovery 5.12????
I have seen it discussed, but nothing realiable to download.
The sad thing is this XP PRO (Non-Corporate / Retail)was supposed to able to be activated more than once. I just can not find any keys.
I have seen a program that displays your current key. After I display key I could possibly re-use??
Please advise of the pitfalls involved in using the same XP Pro Non-corporate key on 2 to 3 different CPU's that would never be on line at the same time.
Thanks as I only have 28 days left... :)
