I don't get it. The test I saw on Tom's Hardware indicate DDR (333) still lags RAMBUS in performance and my look at online memory prices show them within a few dollars of each other. Same with motherboards - Total System difference of about $35 for 256M Ram...Why buy DDR if the diff is this small?

Where is technology heading? DDR, RAMBUS, or netiher?

That's not true actually. Bandwidth-wise, yes, RDRAM is superior but in real-world performance, DDR333 is as fast or faster than dual-channel RDRAM. This is because DDR RAM has significantly better latency.
