my windows 7 will play games but not cds and it is telling me that the driver is all working fine. please help?

well im on windows 7 my disc drive will not recognise cds or programs it will only play games i am really comfused also my pc is saying its all working fine but the discs that dont work will work in my laptop which is windows xp?

Hi djmowgli - Did you recently install Windows 7? Have you tried updating your drivers through Windows Updates?
