I have a Matsonic MS7191SM mobo in my old case. I pretty much stripped everything from my old computer to build my new system. I want to eventually use the old case to build a PC for my daughter.

Tonight I put my video card in the AGP slot and fired up the power on the case with just the mobo to see if it would post. So I have 64mb of ram, a Celeron 500mhz CPU, and the video card, no drives.

When I power it up, a green led comes on, the fan on the video card spins, but the fan on the CPU doesn't and the mobo doesn't post-- just sounds a single beep...pauses...beep again, etc. I switched the header on the CPU fan to see if it was the header but that didn't change anything. I thought maybe the power was connected wrong b/c the AT power cables are divided in two and the mobo manual doesn't say which way they should be connected. I hesitated to do this but I switched them... and when powering on NOTHING. I switched it back and I get the same situation.

Shouldn't the board post even w/o drives hooked up? I also don't get the thing with the fan not getting power. If power was going to the AGP slot, you would think that power would also be going to the headers ok... right? I'm confused.

thanks... the blacks are in the middle. I wonder why the fan headers aren't getting power?
