Ok guys, I was originally really excited about ordering a abit kt7a, UNTIL, I looked around on the boards here and saw all of your "input" on VIA chipsets. I am now, all turned around and don't have a clue what way i'm going to go. I had originally read nothing but good reviews on the kt7a, good performance for the price, (a bit dated now) but i don't need the NEWEST stuff. Right now i'm using a friggin GigaByte k6-2 500mhz ali. POO. heh, so any suggestions or comments on my first post then please feel free.
You will find some issues on virtually every board made. I use the shuttle ak31 version 3.1, and it has run pretty well for the last 3 months. Newegg has a refurbished one listed for only $59 with free shipping. Whatever you do, don't feel you have to use your old memory. I would make the switch to ddram. People recommend the Iwill xp333 with the slightly slower ali magic one chipset. ECS has a new board out soon, the K7S6A, that uses ddram and the sis 745 chipset. Only $69 for pre-order at newegg. I use onboard sound to avoid some via problems.
