I have an AMD K62 500mhz processor (whith 3Dnow) and almost no idea what my motherboard is, all I know for sure is that it's an AT motherboard and it has a socket7 for the cpu.

I'm not sure if it will help but - it's a via chipset, it has 4 PCI slots and an AGP slot (AGP 2.0 I think) it has dimm memory slots (can't remember if it also has simm slots, but I don't thinkso).

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the fastest possible processor I can get for that motherboard. Or do you need more info to be able to tell?

If so, how do I find out the necesary info by looking at the motherboard? (I have none of the documentation that came with it)

If there are no brand marks on it then it could be a PC Chips motherboard.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground :eek: .
