I am running the latest versions WinXP SP2, ZoneAlarm and Norton Anti-Virus.
The system is on a two computer home wired network using a broadband cable
modem and a Linksys Cable/DSL router. The second computer is almost never
turn on when I'm trying to transfer files. For some reason, I could never
send or receive files unless I stopped ZoneAlarm. However, something has
changed, now, even though I stop both ZoneAlarm and Norton Anti-Virus I
still cannot send a file. Windows Messenger 4.7 tells me there is a
firewall preventing the transfer and MSN Messenger 6.2 just sits there and
comes back with a message after 30 seconds or so that the transmission
failed. I can receive files via either program. Is there something going
on with SP2 and the built in firewall? I would really appreciate some help
in resolving this frustrating problem.
