motherboard mind wars

Ok guys and galls. Big deliberation here. I can't decide what I should get. I don't NEED the FASTEST mb, or the nicesest, I just want somthing that will perform well. I believe i've done my research on this matter, but I would still appreciate some of your "expertise"

anywhoo, current system specs
Giga-byte GA-5AX ALi Aladdin 5/5+
AMD k62 500mhz
384mb sdram
gf2mx200

I was torn between 2 motherboards. The infamous ECS k7s5a or the GB GA-7ZXC. Not to sure the little shop can get an ecs yet, and if not, should I just go for the GB? you know, its a chipset war, via vs sis. In this case, both are extremely good, just can't decide which to take a chance with. so, can anyone give me a simple answer?
