This is my first build with the following components:

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
Intel i7-930
Corsair 2x3GB 1600
Corsair 750w PSU
WD 1tb wd1002faex
gtx 460 gpu
asus dvd-r 24x

Everything went well with the install, but on install of windows 7 the first time it hung on the expanding files. Shut computer down then if gave me bootmgr is missing, which I can bypass if I boot from cd, however now I get to the setup is starting screen and it just hangs there(after the language selection).

Any possible direction I coud take with this? Thanks for any help.

Do you have a previous version of Windows installed? if so what is it?
Are you using a full version of W7 or trying to upgrade from the previous OS?

Thanks for the reply, but after numerous attempts to see the problem, figured it was the hdd, so os is up and running.
