Hello,
I have an ASUS P5A running Windows XP. During the XP install I pressed F5 and forced ACPI support. I just put my machine in standby for about 2 hours and when I got back the case was hot to the touch and I smelled smoke. I'm not going to attempt to repeat my "experiment" so this is a warning that you should not put your machine in standby if Windows XP did not natively identify ACPI and instead use hibernate.

wha???
that is weird.
it didnt have any errors?
and was it still operational?
and if you look inside, is there any physical damage to anything? like brown parts, black parts, that used to be a different color?
