Hello,
I have an ASUS P5A running Windows XP. During the XP install I pressed F5 and forced ACPI support. I just put my machine in standby for about 2 hours and when I got back the case was hot to the touch and I smelled smoke. I'm not going to attempt to repeat my "experiment" so this is a warning that you should not put your machine in standby if Windows XP did not natively identify ACPI and instead use hibernate.
