Hi

Do you need a special motherboard to run P4 512Kb Cache(dubbed A) processors?

I'm currently using an ASUS P4T-E which does support the 478pin P4 chips, but will it support the extra cache straight off? Or do I need to buy another motherboard?

Thanks

Thanks!

Cool - that's good to hear considering I just brought that MBoard recently.

Just to be clear - it will work, but will it utilise the the full 512kb of cache, or just half?

a bios update may-or-may not be needed...

Yes it will use all of the cache regardless.

But the 2GHz is faster at default speed and probably overclocks better.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

Juin, do you know what you're talking about?

I don't have an Athlon XP, I asked about Northwood...
