I tried setting up a clean install of WinXP HE on two harddrives (both WD 30GB 7200). I have the two in a striping raid configuration and the board (Asus K7V266-E) recogonizes it as one 60 GB drive. However when trying to install XP on them it stops after the screen "checking your computer's setup"

I tried to then install Win2K and it said that there is not a valid drive to install the OS on.

Can anyone tell me what I am missing here to set this up. And how stable does it run? any problems?

Thanks

When it says "Press F6 to install a third party SCSI or other driver" (or something similar to that) do it. Then it will ask you to insert your driver diskette into the A: drive. Do that also. The diskette should have come with your Motherboard, or if there is only a CD you'll have to copy a folder from it (probably called "RAID" or something similar) to a diskette and then use that.

It's always the one thing you never suspected.
