Just setting up this board with AMD Xp1800, all connections made and all fans spinning - but all we're getting is a long beep, a pause, a long beep, a pause, repeat..

The monitor does not power up with any sort of signal, although it's a known good monitor, and known good graphics card.

Tried reseating the graphics card, and the RAM. Abit' website doesn't have a lot of helpful info about beep codes - would appreciate any ideas.

sounds like faulty mem, can u try it in another machine to test it or is it in correct slot/s, some mb use lowest number first others lowest or highest check which yours uses

My first thought was the RAM also. I have it in slot 1, I can try all the others.

Unfortunately, this is the only DDR chip and system that I have - Crucial 512 Mb chip, so I really don't see there being a major problem with the RAM itself.

In my Abit KG7 mobo I had to put the RAM in slot 4 to get it working, but don't know if you also need to do that.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground  .
