I'm looking for the least expensive Slot A mobo, for a test system. I don't care much about video or sound performance.

I need Onboard:

1. Sound
2. LAN
3. Video

Can you suggest anything other than the MSI K7N420? Although I like the board it costs about $150 including shipping and thats more than I really want to spend. Thanks

As far as I know only board with an NForce chipset have onboard video, maybe another manufacturer sell cheaper NForce boards.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground  .

Some of the sis 730 chipset boards may have what you're looking for. In pricewatch, select motherboards, then sis 730. Pc chips or amptron boards frequently have what you're looking for. I can't vouch for their quality, but my brother uses a pc chips board for his k6-400. Good luck.

SiS for both Intel and AMD!

SiS730 based ones for AMD processors and SiS630 based ones for Intel processors!

ou can even get Asus boards pretty cheap, the A7S and CUSI-FX.
