1.4 Ghz AMD T-Bird 266 fsb
FIC AZ11ea mboard
256 mb pc133 sdram
Visiontek Geforce2 GTS 32mb
Sound Blaster Live 5.1
WD 40gb 7200 HD

Does this system sound good and stable?
I like to play games a lot and I have read about some freezing with similar systems. (maybe the sblive?)
The only parts I am willing to change are
Motherboard and Sound Card

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
thanks

The pc133 limits your choices. The ECS K7S5A for about $57 (newegg) is probably your best choice, in spite of the problems that some people have with it. I use the shuttle ak31a ($78 newegg or $79.95 at Fry's electronics), and it works well for me. Bios flashes are very easy, and can be done while in windows. But it only uses ddram. The fic you selected may work fine with pc133, but has limited overclocking possibilities. I used the ad11 with no problems for 4 months before upgrading to the shuttle, with the kt266a chipset.

I haven't heard much about FIC boards, but out of what I've heard has been more bad than good. I just set up a system using the ECS K7S5A and had some sound issues. If you plan to use a soundcard though, that shouldn't be a problem. Plus the K7S5A has DIMMs for both SD RAM and DDR so you can bump up a step later on. Besides... you chose AMD over Pentium... it already sounds good : )

Where the heck is the "any" key???

OK heres my updated system specs:

AMD XP 1600+ 1.4Ghz 266 fsb
ECS K7S5A Mboard
256 mb pc133 sdram (may upgrade later)
Visiontek Geforce2 GTS 32mb
Hercules Fortissimo II sound card
WD 40gb 7200 HD

I have a few questions about this though:
*Can I disable the onboard sound on the card so I can use my on sound card?
*Will the ECS K7S5A Mboard take advantage of the AMD XP cpu? (I read something about older boards not using it correctly)
*Is the onboard NIC good or will I need to buy a separate network card?

it works, you prob don't need a new card.
