Hi Folks,
I hope someone can help me, I have a Chaintech CT-7KJD motherboard with a AMD ATHLON 1.33GHz and 256 MB of DDR RAM PC2100.
My problem is that my motherboard says, I have a 100 MHz CPU BUS FREQUENCY. Is this correct? or should it be 133 MHz.
In my limited knowledge, I yhought it should be 133 MHz so when I changed the jumper on the motherboard to 133 MHz and booted up POST tells me I have a 1 GHz ATHLON.
Then I noticed that the motherboard book refers to a SW1 whichis the EXTERNAL CLOCK FREQUENCY JUMPER, I looked at my motherboard and it doesn't have one of these.
I decided to check the BIOS SETUP in I can change it from there and all I can find is FREQUENCY/VOLTAGE CONTROL which contains CPU VCORE SELECT, AUTO DETECT DIMM/PCI CLK and CPU CLOCK which the book states(This field allows you to select a subtle speed of the CPU FRONT SIDE BUS for OVERCLOCKING posibility.) But I DO NOT WANT TO OVERCLOCK THE PROCESSOR.
So is 100 MHZ correct for this system?? or Should it be 133 MHz? and if so how do I correct it?
Thanks for your help.

In the bios, set the fsb to 133, and leave your jumper at 133.

Yes that maybe so, but as I have said there appears that there is no way for me to do that.
Because yes I have a jumper that will let me change 100 MHz to 133 MHz on the board. But in the BIOS there is no function that will allow me to do it in there. As I have said the only reference I can find is FREQUENCY/VOLTAGE CONTROL which contains CPU VCORE SELECT, AUTO DETECT DIMM/PCI CLK and CPU CLOCK which the book states is for the OVERCLOCKING ability, which is not what I want to do.
I just want to get my system running to it's full potental.

have you checked for BIOS updates? it very well could be that support was added after you had purchased it.

Thanks all!
I do have the latest BIOS.
I've found the problem, which is that CHAINTECH have F**KED UP the motherboard manual, Book says to have the jumper on pins 1-2 for 100 MHz FSB but it is pins 2-3 for 100 MHz.
Pins 1-2 are for 133 MHz BUS is which my system was at.
Also they state that pins 2-3 to clear CMOS, in reality it's pins 1-2.
Classic example of don't believe everything you read.
