Msn Messenger update

When I try to update my msn messenger it says error 1601 go to msn messenger
website to download. I have done this and still get same error message. What
can I do to fix this?

To correct this, click Start, then Run, and type the following:
%systemroot%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver
then click OK.

Then try again.
