I built my new computer yesterday only to be disappointed. When the time came to press the power button and watch it boot for the first time, it did in fact start but to my disappointment NEVER makes it past the Logo screen.

I have no idea what the problem is, I tried many things, I know it's not video, I tried 2 diff cards, I know its not any pci card cuz I took all of em out, I know it's not HD/FD because I unplugged em all.
I get one nice short solid beep like everything is ok, but the logo just sits there and nothing happens, I can't even hit delete for the setup.

I have a Northwood 1.8Ghz in there (set to jumper free, voltages and everything on automatic, and a 1x512MB DDR SD (Mitsubishi is what is on the chips). Manual says 512MB density and double sided ram is fine.

When i pull the cpu out the board complains - as it should, similarly with the RAM and video, but when I put them all back in - nothing again, one beep like everything is fine, and it hangs, I can't even get into the damn BIOS.

The cpu was retail shrink wrapped so unless i got a dud i think it's fine - and i think the board would complain if it was bad,
The board complains when it should with voice posts (audio error messages through sound card) so I think the board is ok,

I have yet to swap CPU and Ram to see if it is one of them...
Anyone have any ideas?

Local comp store is gonna check CPU & RAM for me, and I'm gonna call Asus monday...

Can anyone else offer any suggestions?
