weird fsb reading...

I have been using the ECS k7s5a for a while now...
i have an athlon 900B. meaning 200 fsb.
i have pc-2100 ddr..
i have the fsb setting in the bios at 100.133.
weird thing is, most diagnostic and benchmarking programs report my fsb as 66.
this seems odd...since it should at least be 100...or maybe 133.
i mean, by no means is my system SLOW...but i would like to know why things are reporting my fsb as 66...
just seems odd..
if anyone has the info i seek...please divulge!
thanks in advance!
i'll check this tomorrow...off to bed it is for me!

Try getting <A HREF="http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA002374/src/download.html" target="_new">WCPUID</A> from HOda.

I would want to assume (but I don't want either of us being an a$$), but do you have the latest BIOS update for that board. It's 01/25/2002. From looking at the BIOS updates for it, it seems to have a lot of 'em.

Probably nothing to do with your question but version 4.x ono does have problems running with a none AMD approved power supply. It seems to affect the FSB, although a bios revision may have sorted this. An example of this problem being a 1333 athlon only working stable at 1000.

Just a though...

nah..it is running fine...at the speed the chip is...
900...actually running at 898...but close anyways..
in the bios, it is set to 100/133...
and i have a bios from 2 revisions back...v 1/12/15
the one that incorporates support for the 2000+.

i mean, the computer is running normal, and sisoft sandra says it is 100x2=200ddr for the fsb..
but stuff like pc-pitstop, and 3dmark 2001 report this thing running at 66 mhz bus...
cpuid reports 199.22ddr..

that is what cpuid is reporting.
this isnt really a problem...more of a mind boggler.

I'm gonna have to agree with svol on that one, AGP bus sounds like the most likely situation. What kind of graphics card do you own?

ok, i am thinking it is the agp bus speed, because if i set it to 100/100, it says the same thing.
weird.
what is also weird is that 3d mark compares my system with a "66mhz FSB" with a computer that has a "133mhz FSB"
LOL
HAHAHAHAHA
whatever...
i think it is fine, as long as some things are reporting the correct speed....SISOFT SANDRA for one...and that the bios is set at 100/133, i think i can rest assured that my computer is running at 100/133.
plus, if it was really running at 66, i dont think i would get such scores on my memory and cpu benchmarks.

it's a glitch with 3dmark... i have the same board with an athlon 1700+ oc'ed to 1800+ and it also says my fsb is 66mhz (despite the fact taht it's running at 138)

Hey Baby, I'll install YOUR RAM, if you boot my Hard drive!

seems like all of the diagnostic programs have glitches like that... SiSoft Sandra says my video card settings are not optimized and I'm running at 4x on my Riva TNT2 (if it can run faster than that-- by all means someone please let me know!!!)

I've got the same problem running Win98, it gives a blue screen when you start the app. I will try if running it with no other apps open will help.
