[SOLVED] Help with charging battery on I Book 4 laptop.

My apple IBook 4 won't charge above 74%.

I'd been getting rid of excess downloads and must have got rid of one too many.

What to do, what to do.

maybe you battery is bad. Over time your battery losses its capacity to charge fully. You could try to let it drain all the way down then recharge it to condition it.

I'm unsure what getting rid of excess downloads has to do with it.....

The battery is completely separate, and given it's age is probably going bad. If you plan on keeping it I would recommend replacing the battery. I doubt reconditioning the battery will completely cure the problem but it will probably help a bit.

If you reset the PMU it might tell you it's at 100% again, if it's an OCD issue and not a battery life issue it might help.
