Hi! i am currently using WinXP PRO and installed Norton Antivirus Professional Edition 2003 on it, my system is also connected to LAN and i uses internet thorough LAN. Now few days back my Network Administrator came to my place and told me that there r some viruses on ur system and u should use PC-Cillin to clean them, i used Norton but it showed no viruses. Than i installed PC-Cillin and it showed me 7 to 8 viruses, Now i am confused that which Antivirus software should i use, Norton or PC-Cillin? Which Antivirus software is best these days specicaly when u r connected in a LAN??????

Is your Norton AV up to date?

It looks to me like you were infected before one of your Norton updates by a virus that disables some properties of your AV software which allowed more infections to happen. Installing the new PC-cillin which was fully functional caught these critters. Neither program will work efficiently if you do not update on a regular (daily) basis before starting your email client or other web activities.
