im maybe getting a new computer
p4 2.0 ghz
i845 with DDR suport
512RAM
geforce 3 ti 200
but im getting the i845chipset and thats my problem
I want to know if there's an big difference between i845 DDR and the i850
i have heard that the i845DDR is as fast and even faster sometimes. Is this correct??? I hope so because i cant change any parts in the computer.

The i845 is not a BAD chipset, but DDR is about 15% slower than RDRAM on the P4. SDR is about 30% slower, so it's still better than SDR, but not nearly as good as RDRAM. Dude, I have a feeling your getting a Dell, and let me just say-Dell also sells i850 chipset systems, with RDRAM, at comparable prices. Dell's BASE i850 systems sometimes use better parts than their BASE i845 DDR systems, but when you custom spec the same parts the final cost is close. And if you're having a shop put it together, the prices are similar between i850 and i845 boards, and RDRAM is currently cheaper than DDR SDRAM.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?
