hi
in BIOS we have an option to set the CAS to 2.5 etc and DRAM to fast, normal, ultra, ultra 2 etc now i have PC2100 DDR ram i have enabled the ultra dma support.

now the thing is when i set my cas to 2.5 and DRAM to ultra or ultra2 mode the system fails to boot and my bios has to be reset... why is that ??? why cant i run at ultra or ultra 2 mode? BTW what are they?? now above that option is another option of "DRAM TIME/FREQ BY SPEED" i have enabled it currently and all runs well... what does this option mean?? and when i have enabled this option both the other options of CAS and DRAM MODE are "unselectable"...
plz try to explain my query thanx a lot

Try changing the setting to case 2 even if your memory is rated 2.5, and see if it will boot. You have to try different settings until you find the ones that are the most stable and fastest for your memory. The two most critical memory settings on my old kt266a board were "4 bank interleave"(enable or disable) and "ddram command"(1T or 2T).
