Repeater for WRT54G

The WRT54G is built on linux. If you download the latest firmware from the
GPL Area of linux you can unlock some features of the access point and
increase the power output from 23mw to 88mw. This should give you much more
range on your ap.

We did the same and we could walk fro over 600M down our road and still surf
the web with a reasonable latency.

Perhaps build a tin cantenna to use on the PC that won't receive. that
should either magnify the signal or remove some of the interference.

I tried the WRE54G and found it didn't help. The tin cantenna I build did
the trick.

In addition to the other recommendations, try setting at least one of the
antennae horizontal. Ron's suggestion to take it off the dresser is a good
idea too. The signal goes in a straight line between the two radios.
Anything in between attenuates the signal.
