Up until a few days ago I was playing BF2 with my Saphire 9600pro. Although slow, I never had any problems with that setup. A few days ago I decided to purchase a friends ATI 9800 pro and now am having major problems playing BF2. The main problem is that the graphics in the game are completely screwed up. There are artifacts everywhere. I know it's not a heat problem because other games play with no problems. I also installed a number of different drivers going from 5.11 to 5.7 and down to 4 something but with the same problems. I read in a few posts people saying to lower the AGP from 8x to 4x but when I do that in the bios Windows XP freezes. So any clues what I should do at this point? Thanks.

I would say drivers but it sounds like you already tried that. Are you running DX 9.0c?

I don't know, you coud always just go back to the old card.

And you might want to post this in the graphics cards section since this is a hardware problem and really doesn't have anything to do with aspects of an action game.

Sounds like drivers to me.

Try uninstalling ALL video drivers, use a driver cleaner to clear out the leftover pieces, and reinstall to see if that helps.

Like SF, I think the graphics card forum of the hardware section would be better - much more traffic than the games section.

Mike.

Thanks for the replies. It could be driver related although I'm not sure. But like you guys mentioned I will try the hardware forums. Thanks.
