There was problems signing in MSN messenger after upgrading
it to build 0777. My firewall shows that there was
connection for MSN messenger, however after a few seconds,
the connection idles. It says, "signing in".
I have also tried clean reinstall. However the problem
still persist.

Settings
Msn Messenger Build 7.0.0777
Anti-Virus and Firewall were disabled
Windows XP
No spyware
No Virus
No third-party addons installed

Additional Info.
By changing my status at "sign in as", i was able to login,
however the contact list did not show up.

You may have an interaction with another program on your computer. In my
case it was Winfax Pro 10.02. If you can find which program is stalling the
sign-in you then have to make a choice as to which one you want to keep.

You can start by going to start | run. Type in msconfig. Go to the startup
tab. Remove check marks from programs, one at a time. Reboot your computer.
Keep records so you know what you can turn back on again. When you find the
culprit keep it turned off.

NOTE: This "may" have an adverse affect upon your computer.

Greetings,

Try this, click Start, then Run, then type:
%appdata%\microsoft
and click OK.

Right-click the MSN Messenger folder and choose Delete. After all this, restart Messenger
and see if the problem has been corrected.
