I just set up a Soyo Dragon+ mobo with an XP1900 cpu. After needing to replace the power supply the system would power up give me one long beep and the shut off. After some fiddling the system did boot up a few times and stayed on without error until I shut it off!! I have a Volcano 7 cpu fan hooked to a 4-pin connector and then the monitioring lead(yellow) hooked to the mobo on cpufan1. The SOYO web site says this beep code means there is no fan on cpufan1. Does any one know whether both the power/ground connector AND monitoring pins need to be on cpufan1 or what??

The problem is always with the last thing you check ... so start there first.

You need to hold the insert key down when you boot. Then go into the bios and shut off Fan Off Control (FOC), I believe it is on the PC Health section. It checks for a fast running fan or turns off, which is what happens when the Volcano 7 isn't spinning fast enough yet.
