I just got promoted (Sort of) to the position of Network Admin for a small not for profit theatre company. I know hardware and individual PC's pretty well and I understand the basics of networking but I don't always know exactly how to do the things I want to or what the consequences are. Can anybody recommend any resources Web or otherwise that can help me? I'd love to find a networking equiviant of Tom's and Tom's community.

Also if anyone here knows or can tell me. Where do I go in a Windows2000 server that's set up as a domain controller to find a list of users who are logged into the domain?

Also how do you get Windows XP to log on to a domain? It keeps trying to run me throught the automated networking wizard but I don't see any options to log onto a domain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not sure where you're based, so I threw in that little extra. From a Brit's point of view, it's a great site, as it covers British stuff mostly, unlike here, which tends to be U.S. orientated, probably due to the majority of the U.S. members.

oohh, you gonna be busy :)

to view users/objects that are members of a 2k domain, on the 2k server, you need to find active directory users and computers from control panel.

is it xp home or pro? home cant join a domain as far as Im aware.

erm
you mean find out how many are logged on at that TIME, rather than members, I think I misread, not sure offhand, but looking at dhcp leases will give you some idea
