Sounds cool, but I hope they remember to have the projector pointing backwards from the screen, unlike the web-cams which face the user.

Maybe they'll put them in laptops with the swiveling displays?

This will be great for use in the class room. :)

But at the same time, it stands to become a source of great embarrassment should one's laptop become infected as you can just imagine the results of having porn pop ups in the class room with the projector turned on, especially if there is sound with the porn.

Unless of course you're in a sexual education class, in which case it could turn out to be a source of great amusement! :D

if they have the projectors facing the user, that would be a tad uncomfortable I may think...

[citation][nom]extremepcs[/nom]I can't wait to see the cost of replacing the bulb! Good idea though.[/citation]

They're LED bulbs and they last many thousands of hours longer than anyone would actually use them.

I like the idea of a projector on a laptop, but these mini projectors are not very bright and the image they project isn't all that large as a result. Might as well just look at the laptop's screen.

Well how usefull is it really? I mean in most places where it would make sense to hold a presentation there is a beamer to use :/
Picture quality-wise it won't be any good anyway due to the size constraints.

So I'll be able to bore my family with home movies and photos dimly projected on a wall in low resolution instead of staring at the bright higher res laptop screen. Woo-hoo.

Forget the battery life, how hot is the projector going to get? And will you have to let it cool down before you can even put it away?

Don't see it ever taking ove the standard laptop screen. You would be forced to find a wall or something to see the screen. This would kill off the advantages of mobility you get with a laptop. Maybe on a small/mini desktop PC this would be better.
