Modem activity display

I have a DSL connection which is great. What I miss from the old 56k modem was the toolbar Icon which illuminated when data was being transmitted. Is there something similar for my DSL modem?

Regards

  1. Which OS? For example, WinXP has it built in.

  3. As far as I remember, Windows 98 doesn't have it built in. However, there's a small program called DU Meter (amongst others) that will monitor your uploads and downloads and measure how much data you transfer. As well, this program has a little icon that you can have in your system tray that has small "up" and "down" arrows that flash to signify transfer.

  4. I did a Google search for DU Meter and came up with a bunch of possible choices.
