I urgently need two replacement Processor Retention Mechanisms for Intel P4 (D845WN) motherboards. Does anyone know where I can source these?

This is a socket board. The zif (zero insertion force )socket retention mechanism is the small lever or arm on the socket itself.

Now what I believe what you are refering to is the heatsink mounting bracket that bolts through the motherboard????

These normally come with the heatsink or motherboard when purchased new.

If this is what you are refering to please post this and then maybe someone can help.

I aint signing nothing!!!

Yes. It is the mounting bracket that bolts throught the motherboard that I am referring to. The motherboard diagram calls it the processor retention mechanism and it is listed by that name on the list of accessories in the motherboard box so that is why I use that term.

I tried getting it from Intel but their parts department only seems to deal with parts for processors not for motherboards. I need to know if there is an independent source where I can obtain these items.

Thanks.
