the big question is, does thunderbird 1,4 GHz 266FSB run on this motherboard
i know that officially it supports only FSB 200MHz, but in the manual there is said that i can lift FSB up to 166MHz from 100MHz
no Thunderbird 200MHz FSB can be clocked with the 166 MHz FSB
and also there was said that if the FSB is on 133MHz the AGP bus is on 66MHz and PCI is 33MHz as they are when the FSB 100MHz
If the FSB is 112 MHz then AGP is about 70+ and PCI 40+ MHz

is this computer going to run stabil with the athlon thunderbird 1,4 266MHz FSB when the FSB on the MB is clocked 133MHz

excuse my english

KT133 chipset doesn't work with FSB at 133. Some can run up to 110-115 mhz FSB but no higher. That is why the KT133 was replaced with the KT133A chipset.

You should use the Athlon 1.4 200 with that A7V. You can still run memory, asynchronously, at 133mhz.

but there's an option to set the FSB on 133MHz with a jumper

here's a pic from the manual

by the way i got my 1GHz athlon thunderbird 200FSB boot to windows @ 1170 without unlocking the CPU but i didn't have the guts to work with this clock speed so i clocked it to 1200 and it didn't boot up :D

Your KT133 chipset will not work at 133FSB. It will support memory at 133Mhz, and cpu officially up to 100(200DDR) FSB.

It has settings for 166FSB, however it will never realise them, just like I can set the FSB (pointlessly) to 200FSB on my A7V133. It never works over 150Mhz.

In reality, the KT133 chipset was a very poor interim release. That you posted at all at 117FSB is a minor miracle.

I explained the issue as plainly as I can.

I'll try an analogy. My car has a 150 MPH speedometer but this does not mean my car can go 150 MPH. The engine is not adequate for this. Well, KT133 motherboards had options that can be set, 133mhz+ FSB, but the northbridge of the KT133 chipset is inadequate for actual 133mhz operation. Sorry if you don't like to hear that, but it's a fact. (I didn't like it myself. I still had a KT133 motherboard when the 266mhz Athlons were released. I didn't like the idea of upgrading a motherboard that was only about 4 months old, at the time, so I didn't upgrade until much later).
