F.E.A.R. is the one game that brings my system to it's knees. Half Life 2 is bizarre in that people with seemingly identical computers can have wildly different performance in this game.
If you have a 512mb GPU and can set Quake 4 to Ultra quality, id say this is the game that needs the most.
na quake is only slow in ultra mode cause it has lots of bugs running in ultra mode for example some maps wont load or will load with artifacts...whether you have a 512Mb card or not ive seen that complaint on a few review sites about quake4.
F.E.A.R without no doubt the most demanding game ever.....
I can play allmost every game smooth with a lot of eye candy on, even with a X800 Pro , but F.E.A.R runs like a snail on crack on my system, even with the CPU and GPU heavily overclocked , and mind you I do have 2 GB of ram... and a A64 3500+ isnt quite that slow.
Quake 4 is ram eater on ultra high quality.
I got 2 gigs of ram, about 300-350 xp take for it self, but the quake 4 take the rest and wanna more, BF2 don't do that.
Quake 4 get very unstable when it's on ultra high and eat all your memory.
Every shitz happens.
Fear for graphic card and everything else
I have played FEAR,CoD2,BF2,HL2,Farcry on a decent system-4,3ghz,1 gb RAM,GPU 6800 128 mb and 200 gb HDD.And my vote goes to FEAR.It used to drench my system.
Now i'm stuck with a pathetic system so no more fancy games for me.
well actually, for my rig, a top-of-the-line dell 4550, i personally have to say Counter-strike: Source. Except for my system it's been playing pretty decently; with 800x600 resolution i can sometimes even turn blood detail to medium while still maintaining framerates in the 10's!
