Win98 first edition requires selecting Start>Shut Down and the dialog box twice before it will finally shut down. First time around it just goes about its business as if nothing happened. I have disabled all background programs without any change. Any ideas, anyone?

I'd personally try upgrading to 2nd edition...or check Microsofts web page for tech. support.
