I have a shuttle spacewalker ae23. The maxium ram it can take is 512. Is there a way to upgrade the motherboard so as to add more ram than what is stated in the owners manuel

The AE23 ises the i815EP chipset, which cannot access more than 512 MB memory!

Its the chipset limitation and not the motherboard's! I simply dont know why Intel put such a stupid limit on their flagship product, but hre it is and you cannot do anything about it!

All you have can do is switch vendors and go for a third-party chipset board, which means extra cost!

Add to that a max GFX aperture of 64MB. [sneer]

Its a crappy replacement for the BX. All you get from it is a 1/2 divider for the AGP4x.
