OK, here's the deal.

Out of nowhere my SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 died. I cleared the CMOS one time and when I came back, nothing! The connection seems OK becuase if I put the speakers right to my ear, I can hear everything, but THERE'S NO VOLUME!

I've tried a few things so far.
- Move the card to different PCI slots of course
- Fiddled with some IRQ settings
- Connected these speakers to the onboard Card (AC '97) and they work fine! (Had to change some Control Panel settings to do that of course)

If anyone has ANY clue what the heck is going on, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

I would look for any conflicts in the device manager. Check your sound settings in the bios. Then I would remove all the sound, video, and game controllers from the windows device manager, reboot and let it re-install. I use 98se, so your device drivers may be in a different location for 2000 or xp.

I'm going to send you the only drivers that I know to work with an SB Live! and Win2k.

I can't think of a good signature so I'll use this one.
