is the asus a7a266 still in production? and can it handle a athlon xp 1700+?

The a7a266-e is in production from asus and it can support the Athlon XP's however i would strongly reccomen that you buy a different motherboard as everyone i know has had allot of trouble wiht the original 2 ASUS motherboards for DDR with althon/XP's. They being the A7M266 and A7A266
