HL2-free duplication?

okay, i downloaded HL2 from steam with my cd-key. here's the question: can i just copy and paste the downloaded files on to another steam account and use it to play? my friend was mistakenly banned for being too good so now he can't play

is all you need to do is log on to your account on his comp, but if they banned his cd-key than youll have to use your the game content wouldnt matter.

they dont ban you for being to good, they ban you when you cheat and everyone sees, why cant he play on a different server.. or do you mean he is banned from steam? that would be because his version of the game isnt a legit copy...

It won't work so don't try it. Pay Valve their money and stop trying to steal games.
Also, tell your friend to stop cheating so he doesn't get the boot.

You don't get mistakenly banned from VAC secured servers for being too good. An individual server maybe, but definately not an across the board ban. You're friend had files on his computer that are known to be associated with cheating and he got caught. Let him use your CD key and watch the same thing happen to your account.

If he wants to be unbanned, tell him to buy a new copy of the game.
