Forum Windows XP : General Discussion Cannot Connect To Messenger

Every time I try to log onto Meesenger, I Get The Message "We Are Unable To
Sign You In .Net Messenger Service Possibly Because Of Your Internet Service"
My Internet works just fine and I can get on explorer and everything except
for things such as messenger and aol instant messenger. I do not think I have
a proxy server and I am on my home computer. I am not networked because this
is only one computer in which I use a cable modem. Even if I did have a
proxy, I do not know the proxy name or address. The regular connection
settings are obviously not working and there is know way to test my
connection to see what kind of settings I need. Does anyone know what I can
do to solve this problem??

Greetings,

You may want to try MSN Messenger 7 if you haven't already as it will tell you more
specifically what the problem is (and there's a nice wizard that can help you out as well):

Thanks For Your Help,
However the troubleshooter tells me to check a program called "Zone Labs
Zone Alert", a program that is nowhere to be found on my computer. No files
for it or anything.
