I would suggest Anarchy Online. I've been playing 1 1/2 years now and it's a really great game. The learning curve is a little steep at first as your character is so customizable. The community is really helpfull though. The graphix are not the best in the world but I would say far better than most Free MMORPGs. PM me for some starting info as I started makeing a web page for beginners and I am switching ISP so the url might change. BUT. the client and game is free until 2007 atm.

edit: I have a Athlon XP 2600+ 2gig ddr 400, 6600gt. I can play 1600x1200 no problem. and it ran fine on 1 gig ram also. This is also with all options on. Lag is always in cities though as there is usually 70-100 people in some areas.
