Hello. no mater what I do, I can't have conversations using windows
messenger, only msn messenger. I made sure the right ports were opened, but
no go. I use a netgear router and windows xpsp2 and windows messenger 4.2.

The latest version of Windows Messenger is 5.1

You'll probably want to download its newest build and retry

I did mean windows messenger. I'm downloading the latest one now. I'll post
back if that doesn't work.
