Hey, i had just installed patch 1.03 for FEAR. When i went to run the game it just gave me a message saying "original disk could not be found or authenticated". I tried reinstalling it but no use, just got the same message!! Whats going on??? Is it the game or is my computer now damaged??? Plz help.

Ok after reinstall did you update? if you did this might help. Last I checked there are 2 updates for FEAR. 1.01 (i think) and 1.03. If you go from 1.0 (as the game is on cd) to 1.03 you might have a prob. try getting both updates and updating in order (i.e 1.0 to 1.01 to 1.03) on a fresh install and just as a precaution go to wherever you put FEAR the first time and delete the folder before you reinstall. (Back up your save games if you want them back and you still have them). If this doesn’t help let me know.

Did you check that the disk was in your drive? :wink:

Yeah, being sensible for a minute ( 8O ) , it's probably a copy protection issue - although it seems odd that it only became a problem after installing the patch.

Have you changed any hardware after installing the game originally?

remeber you have to get the 1.03 crack jesus!! ive never had problems with my dled copy. i will buy the game soon but for now i am brokeee. id say just keep it at the original patch you had, if it aint broken why fix it?(obviousley to get more performance).

well since we are on the subject of FEAR
anyone know whether or not the 1.03 crack is out
and if so where could i find it?
