Hey all,
I have 512 megs of PC100/133 sitting around (Specifically 2x128 of pc100 cas2 that SHOULD oc to 133, and 256 of pc133) because of a system upgrade. Just got a dually MP.

My problem is that it's a d*mn'd shame that all this ram has to sit in a computer which is an overclocked celly 266 (oc'd to 448 mhz) which WAS good for it's time..

So I want to upgrade. I have all the components except I want to replace the mobo and cpu, and i want to use this ram. Is there a motherboard which will let me run an athlonXP 2000+ with pc133 ram? If so, what is the name of this motherboard?

First off, I'm insulted that PC133 is considered legacy. My Compaq Armada 4131T (Pentium 133) is legacy. But c'mon, PC133 is still fast as hell, imo.

About motherboards, most newer KT133A boards should support the Athlon XP. Mine, which is an Abit KT7A-RAID, does. It's a great board too. If you do end up getting a KT7A solution, make sure that it's revision 1.3. Apparently, the earlier revisions don't work with the AXP.

DDR333 on the KT333 is up to 25% faster than the KT133A, so yes, PC133 is legacy.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor

I'm still using a legacy pc (P-133) .

The brand new top-of-the-line stuff you buy today is yesterdays technology.

I plan on hooking up a "value" system for my parents this summer with an Athlon Thouroughbred and some sticks of good old PC-133 SDRAM. Its really inexpensive where I live. C'mon, we all love SDRAM =O

If I'm not mistaken the Iwill boards (kk266, kk266R) will take an XP(made need a bios update) but they use pc133 dimms. Their pretty good baords, stable and what not.
