I'm not sure, but I think that both parties must have microphone
pluged-in in order to have an audio conversation. One doesn't have to
USE his microphone, but must have it.

Do you get any errors?
Are you behind a router/gateway/proxy?
No actualy, neither of the participating parties have to a microsoft
phone connected. But with out a microphone all you can do is stream
sound directly from the sound card.
