late last year my old hard drive kinda dies... to be expected.
then i fry my motherboard. also kinda expected and mostly my fault. this year the driver CD for my new joystick just dissapears... rendering it pretty much usless untill i hunt down someone with something similar... just a few weeks ago my monitor begins to go flickery and pincushiony, meaning that a new ones just around the corner.
and yesterday morning, i boot the beast up only to have a horrible whiney grindey noise from inside the case. i open it up, check all the fans, and find its the fan that is LEAST easily replacable, namely the one on my geforce2pro.
*sighs*
it took 15 minutes this morning for the fan to normalise its noise and operation. it DID NOT sound happy. wonder how long till it dies?

i seem to have the same sort of computer plights..... i replaced the fan on my video card with a large fan, it cools much better and help cools the memory as well.

Four days ago, the SCSI DD ID(00) crashed on my little Digital socket 5 server. Now my home network is down. My ip connection keeps connecting by itself and my Epox EP-8KTA+ sys keeps freezing up.
No wonder there are 4(or is it 5) redundant computer systems on the shuttle crafts. Oh my oh my oh my!
A little gray humanoid plus a case of probes with that sir?
General Motors wants to switch to "fly by wire" electronic steering and breaking for their cars. The police want to deploy electronic zappers to disable car engines in chases. Hmmm, was the fellon more dangerous driving the car at 130MHP, or careening out of controll at 130MPH?
Yes, some of the runners are really great drivers! I know a guy that was a little drunk and got chased by the police, the COP wrecked his OWN car and the runner got charged with destruction of police property. In the cities, police frequently charge runners with murder/manslaughter when cops hit people. There is no accountability with police when they are "performing their duties". Some cops LOVE chases because it give them an excuse to drive fast with no consequences.
Oh Yeah!! Let's all stick to Metropolis Street Racer, Le Mans 24, Grand Turissmo! Maybe noones thought of the road safety aspect of computer games yet!!
Watch "Cops" and listen to the dialog. When it's all over the guy that was all excited SAYS he hates them just to satisfy the public, listen to his voice during the pursuit and judge for yourself, he sounds like he's watching a football game!
