Just curious, I checked my voltage levels in BIOS and found out that Vcore is
set to 1.79V...should´nt this value be 1.75V?
I assume that Vcore is the voltage the CPU is using, right?
Well, my system is stable and the temps are ok.
I have a "start" problem with my computer and I´m interested in knowing if the CPU is fed with to much voltage and hence it wont start imediatelly (some sort of protection or whatever?)
(Need to push startbutton - wait - push reset - disco)

There was a thread in here a few weeks ago about a problem whereby the power supplies weren't initially supplying the correct voltage to the motherboards, therefore needing the reset button to be applied upon cold boot. There was actually a mod to fix this. Can't seem to find it right now. But does this sound like your problem?
It's always the one thing you never suspected.
Yeah, I know that one.
I read that article, could be the problem but I´m not sure.
If it is, I don´t want to mess around with the hardware anyway.
My question here is wether 1.79 is the voltage for the CPU, if that´s the case then it´s to high.
Oh sorry, I rechecked my first post and suddenly realised that things might
be a little unclear.
When I talk about Vcore I mean the voltage levels you can see when the
computer posts, not the value you can alter in BIOS.
The CPU voltage level in BIOS is set to be 1.75V (as it should), If it really is 1.75V,
that´s another question. (I assumed that the 1.79V level
displayed during post might be what the CPU uses in reality, if so: not good.)
Don´t know if someone misunderstood, but I felt compelled to mention this
anyway.
I have the same problem with a xp2000, gigabyte ga-7dx, 256ddr, enlight 300W ps.
My Vcore is running @ 1.787 but the motherboard system info utility states that it is "OK".
I can not start my system without using the reset button or even do a system restart. I also suffer from sudden shut down of the os or lockups. When the latter occurs my lights are still lit and all fans are still running, but screen is black. I have to use the reset to initalize the system.
If you find an answer please help me and I'll do the same.
