I am having boot up problems with an M810 motherboard just exactly like a previous post in the archives but no one answered. The system was working fine and suddenly it decided to stop booting. I reaches different stages everytime I turn the system on and it seems like the longer I leave it unplugged the further it gets. I have tried everything I can think of. PLEASE HELP! I sold this system to someone and now I have to fix it.
I have noticed that once in a while, when I turn on the system, the cpu fan spins very slowly. It is never on long enough to overheat though. Unless it severely overheated before and that is what is causing the problem now. I keep thinking about viruses. Is it possible for a virus to get into the system bios? According to the book that came with the board..I am supposed to have the option of turning on Trend Chipaway Antivirus in the setup. That option is nowhere to be found. Could a virus have taken out my bios? I'm about ready to try flashing the bios to see if it can reset it. I downloaded the update from my own computer and this bad system actually let me get in to dos far enough to copy it to the hard drive but now that I got the newer version there, it won't let me in at all to run the update program. It either hangs at the "Wait" prompt or continually tries to access the floppy drive and hangs there. Like it knows what I'm trying to do or something. Thank you very much for your advice though. I do have another power supply here. I might try that to see if maybe it just isn't putting out the power that it should be. Once again, thank you very much.
